Paleo Journey For Me

Hello my new friend,

Around October 2009, I was at my top weight, 150 pounds and I’m only 5.6.  I didn’t like how I looked in the mirror or how I felt about myself.  Even though I worked out 45 minutes 3-5 times a week,  I didn’t see the results I wished for in my body transformation or weight loss.  So I decided to look for the solution to my problem.
In short details I want to tell you how I felt before I start eating clean paleo/primal.  Most of the time I felt bloated, and some people even asked me if I was pregnant, which really was a kick in the butt!  I was always tired, very low energy and constant headaches.  I knew I had always had a hard time losing weight, but instead I was actually gaining!  Anyways, my husband and I met his gym buddy at Starbucks in 2009 who introduce us to eating clean and learning to live a healthy lifestyle.  My husband did not recognized him since he went from “buff guy” to “lean muscle looking guy” in less than a year, he looked great! He advised us to switch to primal/paleo eating which would help us stay in shape, be healthy and drop any extra weight.
From that point on, I started my research about paleo/primal clean eating online and found tons of great free information that helped me jump start into the right way of eating.  I cleaned out my kitchen of grains, cereals, sugars and beans; and went shopping for healthy food, such as meat, veggies, nuts, fats and fruit.  Just by cooking simple meals from the ingredients above, I dropped 25 pounds!  No more bloating and the headaches were gone.   Had so much more energy, and my constant cravings for junk food were not bothersome anymore!  I’m am now at my healthy weight and focused everyday to keep the extra weight off.  By cooking our meals, I know exactly what ingredients are in my food, rather than eating out all the time and having no clue what they have added.  I enjoy cooking so much that I created my own Facebook Cooking Page and this Cooking Blog.  It encourages me to stay on track and help other people in this wonderful, fun journey!

  3. I came by to visit after you "followed" my blog and all I can say is WOW!

I have 70 pounds to lose. 70. It's so intimidating a number that I tend to try and then give up (yo yo being my middle name??). The sugar is the hardest thing to give up.

Anyway, I'm off to check out your recipes!

  4. Glad you stop by Heather! And 70 pounds it's not a big number. You can shred those pounds if you make this kind of eating as a lifestyle :)

By the way I recommend that you add on Facebook supportive group which is doing paleo/primal diet. It's so helpful and uplifting when I don't feel like working out or eating right :)

  5. I am glad you found my blog! I am inspired by your healthy choices. I strive for them, but seem to be lacking discipline! I look forward to trying recipes you have on your blog. I still have weight to lose (baby number five is now almost 11 mths) My goal is 10-15 more lbs. I like your idea of trying some of the week paleo. I am on my way. Thanks for your inspiration!!!

  6. Sandee, thank you for stopping by. I'm glad that you inspired to move on)
And discipline I believe when we don't give up, even though we had so many fails. That's when we had the most results :)

  7. Hi, Marina! Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm very interested to hear more about how you eat. I have to admit that giving up carbs would be hard for me, but I'm always wanting to learn more about eating healthy.
